Racing: Will the Hyper Pro-Am return for the 2007 season?
NJ BMX Racing It looks like the answer will be yes. Judging by the registration of the domain hyperproam.com this week. Word on the berm is that (word on the berm? WTF is that?) the new site will be pimped out and running on carbon fork octane and will be THE place for fans of the pro-am as well as the actual racers of the pro-am to get info, points, video, pictures and for those of you who are racing...discuss the pro-am.
When the site debuts be sure to sign up on the Hyper Pro Am Newsletter and get ready to rock the m-fudging house in '08.
The Olympics will have nothing on this.

Freestyle: Shields BMX Comp 1-18-2008
NJ BMX Freestyle

shields

(For those who need pics they are here: Shields Pics.)

The Shields Skatepark crew put it all together for another rocking mid winter comp this past weekend sponsored by the usual insane crews of Animal, High Gear Cyclery, Efingers Sporting Goods, and CJS BMX and Skate Shop. The shop reps were sporting the BMX pits that day with Al, Rod, Crazy Bill and Aaron the madman BMXer-announcer once again driving the one guys nuts with his musical selections. And yes, even the old dog of freestyle BMX himself, Hippie Steve was in deh house nursing a 3rd degree seperation of his shoulder from a flip gone wrong at Woodward Camp a few weeks ago.
brokenspokes arrived just as the beginner class was winding down to witness one of the racers come out of the woodwork to stomp down a solid 3rd place. None other than Chris Koval rocked out hard enough for the 3rd spot some cool swag and a bitchin (hello dating myself as an 80's nerd) trophy. Guess there is some validity to that whole "all aspects of BMX help each other" thang. Props to CK. Alex Bodner and Ian Bradley locked down 1 and 2 in the beginnah class in that order, no mean feat either as there were 20 kids in the class. Best Trick for beginner was Mark Vinch. I finally

Racing: Glen Knapper submits resume for NBL Board Position
NJ BMX Racing NJBMX's own Glen Knapper has submitted a resume for a position on the NBL Board of Directors. (that's national ladies and gents not the state)
Glen's track record is substantial and as far as all of us here are concerned he doesn't so much deserve to be on the board as he NEEDS to be on the board.
I would hope that all voting members of the NBL cast a ballot for Glen and get him in there where he can start doing for the NBL what he has done for NJ.
Step this thing up a notch!

brokenspokes.net and NJBMX Szine endorse Glen Knapper for NBL Board of Directors.

The full run down on what happens at Competition Congress will be posted here on brokenspokes.net in February.

Racing: Vote for James Bagwell at NBL Competition Congress
NJ BMX Racing here's why:
taken from vintagebmx.com

The NBL's Competition Congress is approaching. For those of you who may not know, each year there are board positions that come up for vote. Track Directors and State Commissioners are allowed to vote. If they cannot attend the vote, they can assign a proxy to another person to vote for them. A person who is there with a proxy vote may only have one proxy. They cannot vote for multiple tracks.

Additionally, any person may be nominated from the floor to run. Last year, I was nominated from the floor and by a very narrow margin missed it. So, I am making another run this year. So, to get out ahead, I guess you can say this is a campaign message. Here is why I believe your vote will be best used with me:
